My brother and sis-in-law brought me a disc containing what I thought were only pictures of Maisie. To my delight, there are puppy pictures of my boy Mikey. Now I remember why we picked him!!!

Gardening Time

It is that time of year. The sun is shining, the grass needs mowing and garden clean-up is well on it’s way. I look forward to this time of year. I have developed a great interest and love of gardening over the last few years. It is true that there is something very gratifying in watching something you planted grow to be enjoyed, shared or eaten!!!
There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work, you would find them smiling. ~Mirabel Osler
Too cute!

Mikey has decided he likes his little sister. She has brought excitement back into his day. Chewing sticks, digging holes and napping are much better with a buddy.
The kitties think so too (sometimes).
Jessica thinks so too!
This is Jessica (and Mikey after being stung by a bee). I do have a daughter. I do not have many recent pictures of her since she is rarely home. Even when she actually decides to hang out at home, “hand-over-face” or “turn-around” are the favorite poses when a camera is introduced. She is 18 (ugh) and completely acts like it, but she is my life and my feelings for her consume my thoughts each day!
The gardening urge is strong!!! I went through some pictures of the garden from recent years and the planting but was catapulted out of hibernation. I did start the daunting task of trying to pull out the emerging garlic chives today. Mikey is very good at helping me dig (especially in those places that don’t need it). Maisie was curious and the kitties sat on the steps and watched. It was a good day!

The kitties are having a difficult time adjusting to Maisie. It has been two weeks today and Lily finally came upstairs for more than one minute before running back to the basement if she even suspects the monstrosity may be near. She actually slept on the couch. Curiousity has driven Charkie to hang out a little longer each day. They can now cross paths within a foot of each other and there are no exploding cat tails. Hopefully each day will lessen the kitties fears and their life upstairs can be returned to normal. I miss them!!!!

Tiger Balm is my friend. Mikey is the tug-of-war champion. I believe his ultimate goal was to pull my shoulders out of their sockets and he almost succeeded. Even my fingers are tired. Thankfully, so is Mikey.
